Terms & conditions

We will exercise every possible care and attention to the welfare and safety of your dog however we accept no responsibility for problems outside our control. Dogs are boarded entirely at owner’s risk.

ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES (by appointment only)

Our standard drop off and pick up periods are as follows: Monday – Friday: 09.30 - 11:00am & 1.30 - 3pm Saturday & Sunday: 10.00 - 12:00pm & 4:00 – 6.00pm If you wish to drop off or pick up your dog outside the standard hours, there will be a £10 additional fee.

Bookings, Arrival and Departure

All dogs will be required to attend a meet and greet session to ensure their dog will be happy in the home boarding environment prior to booking. Owners are required to make full disclosure of any characteristic which may make their dog unsuitable for home boarding. Submission of a booking form confirms the owners acceptance of the Terms and Conditions. Please note we are not open for arrivals or departures on any Bank Holiday. The price of boarding during bank holidays will be at an increased boarding rate. Bookings over a bank holiday weekend must be a minimum of 3 nights’ accommodation or longer. No booking is confirmed until all questionnaires and forms are complete, have been signed, and a 25% deposit paid. All deposits are non-returnable. The remaining balance is payable at drop off via BACS or cash. If the balance is not received prior to commencement of the booking the board will be cancelled and you will be liable for the full balance. If vaccinations are incorrect you will be liable for the cost of stay. All dogs are charged for the day of their arrival and the day of departure regardless of the time of arrival or departure. If for any reason your dog is not collected within 7 days of the due discharge date and no communications have been received from yourself, the business owner has the authority to re-home the dog and you will remain liable for all costs associated with this until an agreeable solution is found for the dog.

Cancellations

Cancellations can be accepted up to 14 days prior to when the Dog Boarding service is arranged (deposit is non-refundable). Cancellations made14 days or less are subject to full payment. No refunds will be made in case of early departure. ALL dates booked are chargeable dates.

Vaccinations & Worming

We are unable to accept any unvaccinated or unneutered dogs Proof of vaccination including kennel cough in the form of your dog’s up to date vaccination certificate MUST accompany your dog on arrival. It is your responsibility to check your dog’s vaccinations are up to date including kennel cough prior to arrival. If proof is not shown we will NOT accept your dog. All vaccines must be up to date and have been administered at least 14 days prior to arrival (7 days is the absolute minimum). Please ensure that your dog is wormed and treated for fleas/ticks prior to arrival.

Behaviour

Each owner must provide honest information relating to their dog/s during our initial meeting. Any negative behaviour including aggression, destructive behaviour, continuous barking or constant toileting will not be accepted. We are unable to accept dogs with aggression problems towards other dogs or people and subject to the terms of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. If your dog is aggressive, bites or is destructive during its stay, it will be moved to a kennel and a transfer fee will be applied and payable by yourself upon your return. There will be no refund of the boarding fees you have paid to Mabel & Wilson’s Home Stays and any additional fees charged by the kennels will be payable by you. Dogs are not permitted to sleep in bedrooms on beds, therefore all dogs need to be accustomed to sleeping in their own bed.

Escapees

Although every care will be taken to ensure the safety of your dog/s, we cannot be held responsible should they try and succeed to escape by, snapping at staff, digging under or jumping over a high fence. We will not be held responsible for any ongoing costs because of injury that may occur through rough play or random behaviour during your dog’s stay. With additional safety in mind, we will provide your dog/s with an additional collar tag which will state “I’m Lost and on Holiday” along with our business name and contact details.

Walks

It is Mabel & Wilson’s Home Stays policy to exercise all dogs on a lead, through experience we have found this to be in the best interests of the dog.

Feed

All food and treats are to be supplied by each owner for each booking. Mabel & Wilson’s Home Stays will supply bowls and bedding and leads. If there is a shortfall of food we will endeavour to source additional feed and this will be chargeable on your return.

Equipment

All bowls, bedding, toys are provided by Mabel & Wilson’s Home Stays. All food is to be provided by the customer.

Emergencies

In the event of any emergency that renders Mabel & Wilson’s Home Stays unable to proceed with the board we will endeavour to contact your Emergency Contact as supplied on the booking form. We reserve the right at our discretion to cancel the booking and refund your deposit without any liability to Mabel & Wilson’s Home Stays. The emergency contact you supply on the booking form must be someone available in the UK whilst you are on holiday who will be able to act on your behalf should we not be able to reach you and potentially collect your dog in the unlikely event that the need should arise. If your dog becomes unwell or has an accident during their stay, they will be taken to a Veterinary Surgery. You agree to be responsible for payment of veterinary fees incurred upon your return. The booking form gives Mabel & Wilson’s Home Stays authorisation to take your dog/s to the Vet's, including for treatment for external parasites, if necessary. It also confirms that you will reimburse Mabel & Wilson’s Home Stays, any fees or pay the Veterinary Surgery directly, which-ever applies. Although we make every effort to ensure your dog/s is cared for to our usual high standards we cannot be liable for loss, injury or death.

Female Dogs in Season

We are unable to accommodate female dogs that are due to come into season during their stay. We will provide accommodation until your emergency contact can collect the dog/s. There will be an additional fee of £10 per day up until collection by your emergency contact.

Insurance

We do recommend that your dog is insured against sickness, accident, injury and third party liability prior to the start of the board.

Veterinary Expenses

The dog owner remains responsible for any veterinary/medical expenses and/or damages/claims resulting from any injuries caused by your dog/s a person or other animal. Every effort by Mabel & Wilson’s Home Stays will be made to prevent these issues arising. You confirm that your dog has not been ill with any contagious disease or condition within the past 30 days and that your dog has received all the necessary vaccinations To protect all our guests please do not bring your dog to stay if it has any symptoms of a digestive upset

Data Protection re. Media

We may record and store photos and videos of your dog/s whilst in our care. Upon signing the booking form (following your initial site visit) you permit us to use the images across our media platforms and website.
